Core Facilities
The Core Facilities units offers access to advanced technical equipments and highly advanced services. They also constitute a natural meeting place for national and international contacts within biosciences.
Core Facilities at the Sahlgrenska Academy
Centre for Cellular Imaging, CCI
Is an advanced light microscopy facility that focuses on the imaging of biological events at the cellular/molecular level of fixed or living cells or tissues.
Centre for Physiology and Bio-Imaging, CPI
Modern physiological and bio-imaging techniques are used to characterize mice and rats as models for human disease. Main research areas are metabolism, cardiovascular and behaviour.
Genomics
Services for analyzing genetic material. Identification of disease coding genes and analyses of genetic markers. Advanced equipment and software tools for analyzing genotypes, gene expression and sequences. Statistical support can be provided.
The Laboratory for Experimental Biomedicine, EBM
This facility holds all necessary equipment for handling and treatment of experimental animals in biomedical research. Complete equipment for training of physicians for laparoscopy, open surgery, radiology, orthopaedics and anaesthesia is available.
Mammalian Protein Expression, MPE
Large-scale production of recombinant proteins and glycoproteins for research purposes. Also culture of other cell lines in small or large scale.
Proteomics
Identification, characterisation, and quantification of proteins. From advanced mass spectrometry analysis to image analysis of 2D-gels for discovery of biomarkers.
